BurgerBoi

Tyler. Six years on Bristol's street food scene. Burgers done properly, served with a grin.

The boi behind the burgers.

From a 17-year-old starting out in kitchens to Head Chef, festival fields and building something of my own.

I’m Tyler, a 21-year-old chef from Bristol with a passion for food, business and making things happen.

My journey started when I was 17, working in professional kitchens with Lounges. Back then, I was just a young lad learning the ropes, finding my feet and getting used to the pressure of a busy kitchen.

But it didn’t take long for me to realise that I wanted more than just a job.

Over the next few years, I worked my way through different kitchens, learning everything from food preparation and service to managing people, controlling standards and running an operation.

At just 20 years old, I became Head Chef at Porto Lounge in Bristol.

That was a massive milestone for me. Being responsible for an entire kitchen, leading a team and maintaining standards taught me lessons I couldn’t have learnt anywhere else.

But eventually, I wanted something different.

I wanted to get out of the same four walls, challenge myself and see how far I could take my experience.

That’s when the festival world came calling.

I stepped away from restaurant kitchens and threw myself into the world of street food, festivals and mobile catering.

Working alongside Steve with Burger Bus Bristol and Buckland Burgers, I went from running restaurant services to travelling across the country, setting up food operations in fields, working long days and serving customers at major events.

Epsom Races, Westonbirt, Delamere Forest, Wing Fest, Shrewsbury Folk Festival — all completely different events, each bringing new challenges and experiences.

And I absolutely love that side of the industry.

There’s something about turning up to an empty field, building a fully functioning food operation and watching it come to life that you just don’t get from working in a normal kitchen.

Along the way, I’ve been involved in developing new food ideas, improving operations, managing teams and learning the business side of catering.

It’s taught me that there’s a lot more to this industry than just cooking good food.

So why Burger Boi?

Burger Boi is my way of bringing everything together.

It’s not just about burgers. It’s about my journey, the people I’ve met, the businesses I’ve worked with and everything I’m learning along the way.

I want somewhere to showcase my work, share what really goes on behind the scenes and connect with people who share the same passion for food and events.

I’m still young. I’ve still got a ridiculous amount to learn, and I’ve got even bigger ambitions for the future.

But one thing I know for certain is that I’m not planning on standing still.

This is only the beginning.
